Hey Actifitters,
There was already a plan for the weekend to work on the yard, especially cut some branches on the big pine tree, because they were grazing the side of the house and the roof. But with my kind of impulse decision to replace the roof, it became urgent and the top priority for Saturday. Two friends showed up, and we started the work. Two of us on the roof cutting down branches, and one on the ground cleaning up the mess. Definitely hard work, but it got done. No branches anywhere close to the house anymore.
And the clean up was pretty good too.
Even Kaia was surprised.
Since we were out there, we cut down a few more branches that could cause damage, and some of the ones that fell during the storms a few weeks ago. We didn't finish cleaning that up though.
After that, since the sun was already disappearing behind the trees, the activities were pretty much the same as work days.
Kaia started her yard inspection.
But way too many distractions, including a huge deer just behind the fence. I was too slow to catch a picture unfortunately.
Not sure what it was about, but during all that, Le Chat gave us her best disapprobation look.
But she got distracted too. So many critters in the yard, it's like they're not even scared of Kaia anymore.
Like I said, it was just like most days, so we then started a walk, with a first stop behind the front yard.
Next, we continued towards the bigger forest.
Since the light was decreasing, when we reached the first major fork on the trails, we turned around.
The Moon was already up there.
Befire exiting the forest, Kaia caught the scent of something, and in spite of the darkness, I saw it too. Another big buck, maybe the same one as earlier, although unlikely because it's a bit far from our yard.
One last colorful foliage and we were on our way back.
A few blocks before home, we could see the last colors of the sunset at the end of the street. No time to get much closer though.
Well, another fairly busy day. I will probably be sore after cutting all these branches on the roof, but like I said, it needed to be done. Now, the new roof should be installed this coming Friday.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
